김화정은 이화여자대학교 국제대학원 국제학과 초빙교수이다. 이화공공외교센터 사무국장 및 한국공공외교학회 총무이사로 활동했다. 주된 연구 분야는 문화세계정치, 소프트파워, 공공외교/문화외교이다. 대표논문으로는 “A New Approach to Sport Public Diplomacy through National Role Conceptions in Governance Networks: A Case Study of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics”(2020), “Bridging the Theoretical Gap between Public Diplomacy and Cultural Diplomacy”(2017), “네트워크 문화거버넌스 모델로 분석한 선진 5개국 유네스코외교”(공저, 2020) 등이 있다.

Hwajung Kim is Invited Professor at the Graduate School of International Studies, Ewha Womans University. She serves as Secretary General of Ewha Public Diplomacy and as Director of General Affairs at the Korean Association for Public Diplomacy. Her research interests include cultural politics in international relations, soft power, and public/cultural diplomacy. She has published on diplomacy, such as “A New Approach to Sport Public Diplomacy through National Role Conceptions in Governance Networks: A Case Study of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics”(2020), “Bridging the Theoretical Gap between Public Diplomacy and Cultural Diplomacy”(2017), and “UNESCO Diplomacy of Five Countries Seen through a Network Cultural Governance Model” (co-authorship, 2021).
