국가평생교육진흥원 제5대 원장으로 올해 2월 취임하였다. 주요경력으로는 서울대학교 교육학과 교수를 현재 휴직 중며, 교육인적자원부 부총리 정책보좌관, 문화일보 사회부 기자를 역임했다. 주요 학술 및 자문활동으로는 현재 한국학부모학회 회장, 한국평생교육학회 부회장, 한국노년교육학회, 한국교육인류학회, 한국비교교육학회, 한국장애인평생교육복지학회 이사를 맡고 있다. 주요 공저로는 『코로나19, 한국 교육의 잠을 깨우다』, 『평생교육론』, 『최신교육학개론』, 저서로는 「학습하는 부모: 평생학습시대의 학부모 담론 재구성」 등이 있다.

Dr Dae Joong Kang is the president of the National Institute for Lifelong Education, Republic of Korea (NILE). Prior to his appointment, he has been a professor of Education at the Seoul National University (on leave). He has served as the policy advisor to the Minister of Education and Human Resources Development of Republic of Korea, and a local news reporter for Korean daily newspaper ‘Munhwa Ilbo’. He is the president of the Korean Association for Studies in Parents and Guardians and vice president of the Korean Society for the Study of Lifelong Education.
