전봉근 박사는 국립외교원 외교안보연구소 외교전략센터 책임교수직을 맡고 있다. 그는 통일부 장관 정책보좌관 (2003-2004), 대통령실 국제안보비서관 (1993-1997), KEDO 뉴욕본부 전문인력 (1997-2001)등 여러 정부 및 비정부직을 두루 거쳤다. 그는 또한 워싱턴 소재 아시아 한미정책재단센터 (2010)와 제네바 안보문제 연구소 (2015)의 방문 연구원으로 활동하였다. 그의 연구 핵심분야로는 북핵문제, 남북관계, 핵 비확산, 핵안보 및 핵 에너지 정책 등이 있다.

Dr. Bong-Geun Jun is a Professor at the Department of Security and Unification Studies at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) in the Korean National Diplomatic Academy. Jun has held several governmental and non-governmental positions: Policy Advisor to the Minister of Unification (2003 – 2004), Secretary to the President for international security affairs at the Presidential Office (1993-1997), and professional staffer at KEDO New York headquarters (1997-2001). Jun was also visiting fellow at the Asia Foundation Center for U.S-Korea Policy in Washington, D.C. (2010) and Geneva Center for Security Studies in Geneva (2015). Jun’s research area covers the North Korean nuclear issue, interꠓKorean relations, nonproliferation, nuclear security and nuclear energy policies.
