중앙대학교 컴퓨터공학과에서 학․석사, 프랑스 파리6대학에서 통신공학으로 박사학위를 취득하고, 현재 중앙대학교 경영학부 교수로 재직하고 있다. 관련 분야 주요 업적으로는 지식경제부 지원의 DCRC(Digital Contents Resource Center, 2001~2004)) 설립 및 운영, 산업부 지원의 한국게임사관학교 설립 및 운영(2004~ 2014), 교육부 지원의 BK21 문화예술산업 혁신연구단(2009~현재) 및 대학원 문화예술경영학과 설립 및 운영 등이 있다.
주 관심분야는 IT융합에 의한 서비스혁신이며, 주요 연구과제는 다음과 같은 것이 있다.
- 비대면 원격근무환경을 고려한 workcation 서비스기술 개발(2021.4~현재, 산업부)
- 고객경험기치창출 제조·서비스 생태계 구축지원 방법론 개발(2019.5~현재, 산업부)
- 4차산업혁명에 대비한 에너지기술개발 혁신방향 연구(2017, 에너지기술평가원)
- 디지털사이니지 기술 활용을 위한 서비스 개발(2019~현재, 한국연구재단)

Hyeog-In Kwon is currently a professor of Business Administration at Chung-Ang University. He holds a Bachelor and Master of Computer Engineering at Chung-Ang University, and a PhD in Communications Engineering from the Pierre and Marie Curie University, also known as the University of Paris VI.

Major achievements include the establishment and operation of the Digital Contents Resource Center(DCRC) supported by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the Korea Game Academy (2004-2014) supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy(MOTIE), the BK21 Culture and Arts Industry Innovation Research Group (2009-present) supported by the Ministry of Education.

The main areas of interest are in service innovation for IT convergence, and the main research subjects are as follows:
- Development of workcation service technology considering the recent non-face-to-face remote working environment (2021.4~current, MOTIE),
- Development of a methodology to support the creation of customer experience values and the establishment of a manufacturing and service ecosystem (2019.5~present, MOTIE),
- Research on the direction of innovation in energy technology development in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution (2017, Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation), and
- Development of services for utilizing digital signage technology (2019-present, Korea Research Foundation).
