PARK Ihn-hwi is a professor of the Division of International Studies at Ewha Womans University. He has been the Vice President of International Affairs at the university since 2014. Prof. Park’s area of expertise includes international security, U.S. foreign policy and Northeast Asian international relations. He is currently a member (Expert Advisor) of the Preparatory Committee for Unification in which President Park Geun-hye presides the committee as Chairperson. Prof. Park is also a member of the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Unification, and he holds same positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense. He was a visiting scholar at the Jackson School of International Studies of the University of Washington in 2010. He also has been a Research Fellow for Korea-US Exchange Council (2001-04). Prof. Park has written many articles in leading journals including International Journal of Korean Unification Studies, Korea Journal of Defense Analysis, Global Economic Review, and etc. He receives his Ph. 현재 이화여자대학교 국제학부 교수로 재직 중이며, 과거 고려대 아세아문제연구소 연구교수(2001~02)와 한미교류협회 연구위원(2001~04) 등을 역임하였다. 2010년에는 미국 워싱턴 대학교 잭슨국제관계대학원 방문교수를 다녀왔다. 현재 대통령산하 통일준비위원회 외교안보분과 전문위원 및 통일부 정책자문위원(2009년~), 외교부 정책자문위원(2011년~), 그리고 국방부 정책자문위원(2013년~)로 참여하고 있다. 한국세계지역학회 부회장, 한국정치학회 이사 및 한국국제정치학회 이사로도 활동 중에 있다. 연구 분야는 국제안보, 미국외교정책, 동북아국제관계 등이다. 주요 저서로는 <탈냉전사의 인식>(편저, 2012), <세계화시대 한국의 국가안보: 주요 내용과 특징>(편저, 2010) 등이 있고, 주요 논문으로는 “한반도 안보-안보부재의 정치학: 한미-남북 관계의 모순적 결합”(한국정치학회보, 2011) 외 다수 연구업적이 있음. 1999년 미국 노스웨스턴대학교에서 정치학박사학위를 수여하였음.
