문인철은 서울연구원 도시외교연구센터의 부연구위원이다. 그는 국제정치, 남북관계, 한반도 통일과 평화연구 전문가이다. 문인철은 주로 서울을 중심으로 지방자치단체의 남북 교류협력 정책을 연구한다. 최근 인간안보, 사이버안보 등 비전통안보 문제와 도시안보 및 도시평화에 많은 관심을 두고 있다. 현재 그는 서울-평양 보건의료 협력 문제를 연구하고 있다. 주요 경력으로는 한국평화연구학회 연구이사(2021), 북한연구학회 북한개발협력분과 위원(2021), 한국동북아학회 섭외이사(2021), 서울-평양올림픽연구센터 센터장(2020), 서울대학교 통일평화연구원 선임연구원(2018.3~2018.8), 성균관대학교 사회과학연구원 선임연구원(2016.4~2018.2) 등이 있다. 또한, 서울교육대학교, 성균관대학교, 한국외국어대학교 등에서 국제정치, 국제정치경제, 통일과 평화, 북핵 문제, 남북관계에 대해 강의했다. 문인철은 성균관대학교에서 정치학 박사 학위를 받았다.

Inchul Mun is an associate research fellow at the City Diplomacy research Center for at the Seoul Institute. He is an expert in international politics, inter-Korean relations, and the study of Korean unification and peace. Currently, he is researching the issue of Seoul-Pyongyang health and medical cooperation. Major careers include research director of the Korean Peace Research Association, an outreach director of the Korean Association for Northeast Asian Studies, director of the Seoul-Pyongyang Olympic Research Center, Seoul Research Institute, Senior Researcher, Institute for Peace and Unification, Seoul National University and senior researchers at Sungkyunkwan University Social Science Research Institute. Inchul Mun received his PhD in Political Science from Sungkyunkwan University.
