"웨이 링은 현 중국 대외경제무역대 국제관계학 교수로 중국외교학원 주언라이 외교학센터, 아시아학연구소, 동아시아연구센터 등지에서 교수 및 소장을 맡았으며 미국 오클랜드대 방문연구원 (2003)을 거쳐 미국 코넬대 Fulbright 연구교수 (2012-13), 이탈리아 루이스대 방문교수 (2018)를 지냈다.

국제관계 이론, 동아시아 협력, 중국의 대외정책을 연구하며 십수 편의 학술저서와 논문에 저자 및 공저자로 참가했고 최근 연구로는 “Developmental Peace in East Asia and Its Implications for the Indo-Pacific” (International Affairs, 96:1, 2020), “Striving for Achievement in a New Era: China Debates Its Global Role” (The Pacific Review, 33:3-4, 2020)이 있다. 현재 학술잡지『외교평론』, 『동남아 연구』,『아시아태평양 안보와 해양연구』의 편집위원으로 활동 중이다. "Before joining the UIBE, WEI Ling was Professor and Director of the East Asian Studies Center, Asian Studies Institute, and Zhou Enlai Diplomatic Studies Center successively at the China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU).

With research interests in international relations theory, East Asian cooperation, and Chinese foreign policy, WEI Ling is the author and co-author of dozens of books and journal articles.
