현 카이스트 원자력 및 양자공학과 교수이며 국제협력처장, 글로벌협력사업단장, 그리고 핵비확산교육연구센터 센터장이다. 서울대학교 원자핵공학과 (학사, 석사)를 졸업하고 풀브라이트 장학생으로 도미하여 신시내티대학에서 원자핵공학과 박사학위를 받았으며 이후 하바드대에서 환경보건학으로 석사, 박사 학위를 취득했다. 한국 원자력안전위원회 전문위원, 외교통상부 한미원자렵협정TF 자문위원을 역임했고 현재 한국 공학한림원 회원, 미국원자력학회의 Nuclear Technology 저널의 부편집장 (아시아), CTBTO의 Scientific Program Committee 위원이다. 저서로 “에너지 비하인드: 세상을 움직이는 힘 이야기” (공저), “Ecological Risk” (공저, 러시아어), “Nuclear Waste Management: Science, Technology, and Policy” 등이 있다.

Man-Sung Yim is Professor of Department of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering, Director of Nuclear Nonproliferation Education and Research Center (NEREC), and Associate Vice President of the International Office at KAIST. Formerly, he worked at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, and taught at North Carolina State University and MIT. He is currently a member of Korean National Academy of Engineering, the Scientific Program Committee of Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), and serves as Associate Editor (Asia) of Nuclear Technology for American Nuclear Society, and a member of Editorial Advisory Board of Progress in Nuclear Energy and International Journal of Nuclear Security. His work centers around the theme of safe and responsible use of nuclear energy. Dr. Yim studied at Seoul National University (BS/MS), University of Cincinnati (PhD), and Harvard University (SM/ScD).
