필립 한쉬 센터장은 프랑스 북동부에 위치한 낸시시 출생으로 낸시 대학교에서 법학을 전공하였다. 1994년 로렌 지방의회에서 추모기념사업 등 다양한 분야의 공보 업무, 교육정책 등을 담당했으며, 이후 1997년 교수로 임용되어 7년 간 학생들을 가르쳤다. 2013년부터 프랑스 베르됭에 위치한 세계평화·자유·인권센터장으로 활동하고 있다. 2015년 프랑스-독일 우호협력 증진을 위한 노고를 치하하는 Franco-German Friendship Prize를 수상하였으며, 2018년 세계평화센터장으로서의 공로를 인정받아 유럽의회로부터 European Citizen Prize를 수상했다.

Philippe HANScH is born in Nancy (East of France). He studied Law at the university of Nancy. In 1997, he becane Professor and was teacher for 7 years. In 1994, he joined the Region Lorraine in charge of communication for several subjects including memories before taking in charge the politics for students. Since 2013, he is the Director of the World Center for Peace, Liberties and Human Rights in Verdun. He is honored by the Prize of French and German Friendship (2015). His action as Director of the World Center for Peace has been honored by the Prize of European Citizen 2018 delivered by the European Parliament.
