요안나 도너바르트는 2019년 8월일자로 주한네덜란드대사 업무를 시작하였다. 서울로 옮기기 직전에는 4년간 몰디브도 함께 관할하는 주스리랑카네덜란드대사로 근무하였다. 그 이전에는 폴란드와 멕시코에서 외교관으로 근무했다. 네덜란드를 대표하는 여성 대사로서, 도너바르트 대사는 기후변화 이슈와 성 평등에 확고한 견해를 가지고 있다. 조경학에 배경을 가지고 있는 만큼 건축학과 지속가능성에 깊은 관심을 가지고 있다. 남편과 슬하에 딸 두 명이 있다.

Joanne Doornewaard has been ambassador for the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Korea since August 2019. Prior to moving to Seoul, she served 4 years as the Dutch ambassador in Sri Lanka, also covering the Maldives. Previous postings include Poland and Mexico. Representing the Netherlands and being a female ambassador, she has a strong opinion on climate change issues and gender equality. Having a background in landscape architecture she has a keen interest in architecture and sustainability. Joanne is married and has two daughters.
