장호순은 경희대학교 영문학과를 졸업하고 미국 노스캐롤라이나대학에서 언론학 석박사 학위를 받았다. 지역신문발전위원회 위원과 충남미디어발전위원회 위원장을 역임했으며, 현재 순천향대학교 신문방송학과 교수로 재직하고 있다. 지은 책으로 『작은 언론이 희망이다』 『언론의 자유와 책임』 『현대 신문의 이해』 『지역사회와언론』 『미국헌법과 인권의 역사』 『지방부활시대』 등이 있다. 논문으로는 '지방자치와 지역언론:지방자치의 필수조건으로서 지역언론에 관한 시론적 연구' '신문시장 구조 개편을 통한 신문산업 활성화 방안-"지역거점 전국지" 모델과 전국지/지역지의 계열화를 통한 신문시장 구조 개선 방안' 등 다수를 발표했다.

Chang Ho-soon graduated from Kyung Hee University with a master's degree and doctorate in journalism from the University of North Carolina. He served as a member of the regional newspaper development committee and chairman of the Chungnam Media Development Committee, and is now a professor of newspaper broadcasting at Suncheonhyang University. He wrote books such as "small press is the hope", "freedom and responsibility of press", "understanding of modern newspapers", "community and press", "the history of the U.S. Constitution and human rights", and "the era of local revival."
