연세대학교 대학원 지역학협동과정 교수로서 인간평화연구센터 소장을 맡고 있다. 고려대학교 아세아 문제연구소 북한실장, 하버드대학교 하버드-옌칭연구소 협동연구학자, 프랑스 고등 사회 과학원 및 독일 베를린 자유대학교 초빙교수, 김대중도서관장을 역임하였다. 연구주제는 한국정치, 정치·헌법이론, 동아시아 국제관계, 평화문제이다. 주요저서에는 [한국전쟁의 발발과 기원] I,II. [한국 1950: 전쟁과 평화], [다음 국가를 말하다], [역사와 지식과 사회], [인간국가의 조건] I,II(근간) [세계시민전쟁의 절정](근간)등이 있다.

Myung-Lim Park teaches at the Interdisciplinary Department of Area Studies, Graduate School, Yonsei University. He teaches their political theory, peace studies, constitutionalism, Korean Studies, and East Asian International Relations. He used to be a visiting professor to EHESS in Paris and to the Free University of Berlin in 2013-2014, and distinguished visiting professor to Jilin University, China from 2014 to 2019, and director of the Kim Dae-jung Presidential Library from 2016-2020. Before joining Yonsei in 2002, he has worked as a director, Center for North Korean Studies, Asiatic Research Institute, Korea University, 1994-1999, and a Coordinate Research Scholar, Harvard-Yenching Institute, Harvard University, 1999-2001. He has written several books including The Origins and Coming of the Korean War (2 Vols.) ; The Requiem for Peace: Korea, 1950 ; History, Knowledge, and Society: Korean War Historiographies from the Kwangju Uprising ; Design for the Future Republic ; Conditions of Human State: From Leviathan to Erysichthon (2vols.)
