한인택 연구원장이 이끌고 있는 제주평화연구원은 비영리, 비당파적 평화연구소로 대한민국 제주에 위치해 있다. 한 원장은 제주평화연구원에서 매년 개최하는 역내 다국적 안보회의인 평화 및 번영을 위한 제주포럼의 집행위원장을 맡고 있다. JPI에는 2009년 입사하여 연구원장으로 취임하기 전까지 연구실장, 제주포럼사무국장, 제주국제평화센터장 등 다양한 보직을 역임해왔다. 핵전략(개인적인 관심사) 및 안보협력에 관한 연구를 진행했으며, 외교부 및 한국국제교류재단 등과 정기적으로 협의하고 있다. 또한, 한국정치학회보 및 한국국제정치학회 등의 주요 저널 편집위원으로 활동한 바 있다. 연구원 입사전에는, 이화여자대학교, 워싱턴대학교, 시애틀대학교 및 캘리포니아 데이비스대학교에서 학생들을 가르쳤다. 서울대학교에서 경제학 학사 및 정치학 석사를 마치고, 버클리 캘리포니아대학에서 정치학 박사를 취득하였다.

Dr. Intaek Han is President of the Jeju Peace Institute (JPI), a non-profit, non-partisan peace research institute located in Jeju, South Korea. Dr. Han concurrently serves as the Chair of the Executive Committee of the Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity, a regional multilateral security dialogue that his institute annually organizes. Since joining JPI in 2009, he has served in various positions including the Director of Research, the Director-General of the Jeju Forum Secretariat, and the Director of the International Peace Center Jeju. Dr. Han has been conducting research on nuclear strategy (personal interest) and security cooperation (the mission of his institute) and regularly consults the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Korea Foundation on public diplomacy. He has served on the editorial boards of major journals such as The Korean Political Science Review and The Korean Journal of International Studies. Prior to joining JPI, he taught at Ewha Women’s University, the University of Washington, Seattle and the University of California, Davis. Dr. Han received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley and his M.A. in political science and B.A. in economics from Seoul National University.
