Moamen Gouda is an Associate Professor of Middle East Economics at the Graduate School of International and Area Studies, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. He is also a research fellow at the Economic Research Forum, a research associate at Marburg Center for Institutional Economics, Philipps-University Marburg, and an associate staff member at the "Master in Law and Economics of the Arab Region" program at Hamburg University's Institute of Law and Economics. He has been an elected board member at the Middle East Economic Association in 2019. His research focuses on Institutional Economics of Muslim-majority Countries, Law and Economics of Islam, Economics of Crime and Terrorism, and Islamic Constitutionalism.
Dr. Gouda received his Ph.D. in economics from Philipps-University Marburg, where he was a Yousef Jameel scholar. He received his MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, UK. His articles are published in Public Choice, Constitutional Political Economy, European Journal of Law and Economics, Studies in Conflict & Terrorism, Economic Systems, Journal of Economics and Statistics, among others. Dr. Gouda’s work has been covered in many media outlets including Economy Chosun, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and the Harvard Crimson. |
