마르크 보벤슐테 박사는 1967년에 태어났으며 괴팅겐 대학교에서 생물학 박사 학위를 받았다. 그는 본(Bonn)의 독일 의회에서 바이오 기술 통신기술, 그리고 전반적인 STI정책에 대한 부분에서 전문적인 의견을 주는 기술자문의원으로 일했다. 그 후 베를린의 막스 델브룩 분자의학 연구소에서 과학 담당 소장의 보좌관으로 일했고, 과학에 대한 대중의 이해, 뉴미디어, 바이오 의학 분야에 중점을 둔 괴팅겐의 과학 기술 포럼 과학부서장으로 일했다.

2000년 말부터 기술혁신지원기관 VDI/VDE-IT에서 근무하고 있으며 2011년부터는 인구학, 클러스터 및 전망 연구 부서를 지휘하고 있다. 마르크 보벤슐테 박사는 2013년부터 베를린 혁신기술연구소(iit)의 대표직에 있다. 그의 핵심 분야는 다음과 같다: 전망 및 트렌드 예측, 인구학적 변화의 맥락에서 혁신 역량, 가치창조와 고용창출을 위한 일과 전망, 지역과 가치창출 구조간의 상호 효과.

Marc Bovenschulte was born in 1967 and obtained his doctorate in biology at the University of Göttingen. He later became a member of the scientific staff of the German Bundestag, Bonn, on the subjects of bio-technology, telecommunications and general STI policy questions. He then worked as assistant to the scientific director at the Max Delbrück Centre for Molecular Medicine, Berlin, and as head of the scientific unit of the Forum for Science and Technology in Göttingen, focusing on the fields of bio-medicine, new media and public understanding of science.
Since the end of 2000 he works at VDI/VDE-IT where he directs the Department of Demography, Clusters and Foresight since 2011. Dr. Marc Bovenschulte is also part of the iit-management, acting as one of the directors since 2013. Focal areas of his work are:

• Innovation capability in the context of demographic change
• The future of work, perspectives for value creation and employment
• Reciprocal effects between regional and value-creation structures
