이재영은 서울대 국제대학원에서 중국 정치(중앙-지방관계, 지방거버넌스)로 석박사를 졸업하고 학부는 한국외국어대학교 중국어과를 전공했다. 현재 통일연구원 평화연구실 부연구위원으로 재직하고 있으며, 주요연구분야로는 중국의 국내정치와 외교정책 사이의 상호영향을 한중관계, 북중관계 이슈를 통한 분석이며, 중국발전모델이 북한에 주는 함의에 초점을 맞춰 연구를 진행하고 있다. 그는 2017년 8월 서울대학교 국제대학원 박사과정을 졸업하고 그 해 11월에 연세대학교 SSK 기후변화와 국제법연구센터의 연구교수로 입사하였다. 중국의 기후변화와 환경정책 변화와 전략적 신흥산업, 자동차 산업, 중국의 4차 산업혁명에 관한 분야의 연구를 수행했다. 관련 논문은 “파리협정 이후 중국 기후변화대응 정책에 영향을 미치는 요인: 대내외적 변수를 중심으로,” 『현대중국연구』, (2018), "중국의 전략적 신흥 산업 발전에서의 국가의 역할: 중앙의 이념(Ideas)과 지방의 이해(Interests)를 중심으로," 『중소연구』, (2017), “중국 자동차산업에서 분권화된 규제국가의 역할: 치루이와 지리 로컬 독립기업 비교 사례 연구,” 『아세아연구』, (2018) 등이 있다.

Lee Jae young received his M.A. and Ph.D. (2017) in Chinese Politics (Central-Local Relations, Local Governance) from the Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University and B.A. in Chinese language from Hankook University of Foreign Studies. Currently he is Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for National Unification. His main research focuses on an analysis of correlations between Chinese domestic affairs and foreign affairs within the context of various issues, such as ROK-China relations and DPRK-China relations. He is now working on the research project of Chinese development model’s implications on North Korea’s development model. After he finished his doctoral degree, he worked as a research professor at the SSK Research Center for Climate Change and International Law, Yonsei University.
