반자이 히로유키는 와세다 대학교 교수로, 국제공법을 가르치고 있으며 현재 와세다 대학교의 감사실장을 역임하고 있다. 그는 와세다 대학교에서 법학석사(1998), 법학박사(2015) 학위를 받았고 이후 스루가다이 대학교, 와세다 대학교에서 부교수를 지냈다. 그는 몇몇 국제법관한 논문과 더불어, 2015년 “국제위법행위에 대한 책임 연구”를 집필했으며, 그의 최근 논문인 “국제법에서의 공통이익의 회복에 관한 국가책임분쟁”은 일본 국제법외교잡지(2018)에서 찾을 수 있다. 그는 2009년 ‘일본-유럽 관계의 현인그룹: 일본 외무성 유럽국’ 의 멤버였으며, 일본 국제법학회, 일본 세계법협회, 국제법학회 그리고 한국 국제∙비교법 저널의 편집위원단에 속해있다. 반자이 교수는 국제법학회의 연구업적과 공헌으로 2016년 아다치 미네이치로 상을 수여했다.

Hiroyuki BANZAI is a Professor of Law at Waseda University in Tokyo since April 2011, teaching public international law. His previous teaching experience includes Associate Professor of Surugadai University in Saitama and Waseda University. He is now engaged in the Director of Internal Audit Office of Waseda University. For his academic background, he received Master of Laws (1998) and Doctorate of Laws (2015) at Waseda University. He published a book of “Study on Responsibility for Internationally Wrongful Acts” in 2015, in addition to several articles on international law. His latest article of “Disputes on State Responsibility for the Restoration of a Common Interest in International Law” appeared in the Journal of International Law and Diplomacy, Vol. 117, No. 1, pp. 25-48 (2018). He was a member of Wise Persons Group on Japan-EU Relationship: European Affairs Bureau of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in 2009. And he is a member of Japanese Society of International Law; Japanese Association of World Law; International Law Association; Editorial Board of Korean Journal of International and Comparative Law. He won Adachi Mineichiro Award in 2016 for his contribution toward academia of international law.
