최종찬은 1985년부터 1990년까지 삼성SDI에서 근무했다. 이후 전자부품연구원으로 이직하여 다양한 연구활동을 하였다. 주 전공분야는 시스템반도체 설계 및 자동차용 전장시스템 개발이다. KETI에서 시스템반도체본부 본부장을 역임하였다. 2018년부터 국가기술표준원의 자율차 국가표준코디네이터로 근무하고 있다. 코디네이터의 주 업무는 자율차 관련 표준화 전략을 수립하고, 표준 전문가를 지원하는 일이다.

Jong Chan Choi worked for SAMSUNG SDI for 1985 – 1990. After that, moved to KETI(Korea Electronic Technology Institute), and has been engaged in various R&D project. Main research area is system LSI design and development of embedded solution of automotive system. In KETI served as vice president in system LSI division. From 2018, served as National Standard Coordinator of Automated Vehicle System. The main role of coordinator is development of standardization strategy and supporting of standard experts.
