자오 통 박사는 베이징 소재 Carnegie-Tsinghua 국제 정책 센터의 핵 정책 프로그램 펠로우이다. 주된 연구분야는 핵무기 정책, 군축, 비확산, 미사일 방어, 우주 안보, 국제 안보 이슈이다. 또한 과학과 세계 안보 저널의 부편집위원, 평화와 핵감축 저널의 편집위원을 맡고 있으며, 핵 비확산구축 아시아 태평양 리더쉽 네트워크의 일원이다. Harvard대 Belfer센터에서 국제안보프로그램 펠로우였다. 그 외, Pacific Forum의 비상근 WSD-Handa 펠로우, 베이징 정부 외교부에서 근무한 바 있다. 조지아 공과 대학에서 과학, 기술, 국제 문제 분야의 박사 학위를 받았고, 칭화대에서 물리학 학사와 국제 관계 석사 학위를 받았다.

Tong Zhao is a Fellow at the Nuclear Policy Program of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, based at the Carnegie–Tsinghua Center for Global Policy in Beijing. His research focuses on strategic security issues, including nuclear weapons policy, arms control, nonproliferation, missile defense, space security, and other international security issues. He is also an associate editor of the journal Science & Global Security, an editor of the Journal for Peace and Nuclear Disarmament, and a member of the Asia Pacific Leadership Network for Nuclear Non-Proliferation & Disarmament. He was previously a Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow at the Belfer Center, Harvard University, a nonresident WSD-Handa Fellow at Pacific Forum CSIS, and worked for the Office of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. He holds a PhD in science, technology, and international affairs from Georgia Institute of Technology, and received a B.S. in physics and an M.A. in international relations from Tsinghua University.
