프랭크 레무스 대표대행은 2018년 9월부터 유엔난민기구 한국대표부에서 임기를 시작했다. 1993년 유엔난민기구에서 근무를 시작한 이래로 26년간 유엔난민기구 타지키스탄, 우즈베키스탄, 예멘, 카자흐스탄 대표부와 스위스 제네바 본부, 비엔나 연락사무소에서 근무하였다. 그 전에는 독일 대사관과 독일 국제개발재단에서 근무하였다.

레무스 대표대행은 독일 포츠담 대학에서 정치·법학부 학사 학위를 받았으며 독어, 영어, 아랍어, 러시아어에 능통하다.

Mr. Frank Remus assumed his functions as the Representative a.i. of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Representation in the Republic of Korea in September 2018.

During his 26-year UNHCR career, Mr. Remus served at various operations including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Yemen, and Kazakhstan also worked at the UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva. Recently he served as the Head of UNHCR Liaison Office to the OSCE and Vienna-based UN Agencies. Prior to his UNHCR career, Mr. Remus also worked for the German Embassy in Cairo and the German Foundation for International Development in Berlin.

Mr. Remus holds a B.A. from Academy of Political Science and Law in Potsdam, Germany. He is fluent in German, English, Arabic, and Russian.
