금주섭 박사는 장로회신학대학교 세계기독교학 특임교수이자 한국에큐메니칼연구원 원장으로 재직하고 있다. 또한 연세대학교의 겸임교수로 스텔렌보쉬대학교에서 남아공 정부가 후원하는 연구교수로 가르치고 있고, 그는 스위스 제네바의 세계교회협의회(WCC)에서 선교국장으로 2007년부터 2018년까지 근무했으며 WCC의 한반도의 평화와 화해를 위한 프로그램에 중추적 역할을 담당하였다. 현재 그는 아시아 교회들에 의해 차기 WCC 사무총장으로 입후보 되어 있고, 그는 영국 에딘버러 대학교에서 철학박사와 데브레첸 및 시비유대학교에서 명예신학박사 학위를 수여 받았다.

Jooseop Keum is distinguished professor of world Christianity at the Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary and director of Korea Institute for Future Ecumenism in Seoul, Republic of Korea. He also teaches as guest professor at Yonsei University and research professor at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. He served the World Council of Churches (WCC) based in Geneva, Switzerland as mission director from 2007-2018. While Dr Keum was serving in Geneva, he was leading WCC to engage in the issues of peace and reconciliation in the Korean peninsula. Currently he is nominated for the position of general secretary of the WCC by the Asian churches. He received BA, MDiv at PUTS and MTh and PhD at New College, University of Edinburgh and two honorary doctorates by the Reformed University of Debrecen and University of Sibiu.
