박만원 기자는 2000년 매일경제신문에 입사한 뒤 지금까지 청와대, 외교부, 서울시청 등 여러 정부부처를 취재했다.
2015년부터 3년간 베이징특파원으로 근무했으며, 이때부터 무역전쟁을 비롯한 미국과 중국간 패권경쟁데 대한 기사를 써왔다. 북한 비핵화 역시 오랜 관심사 중의 하나다.
현재 매일경제신문 국제부 차장으로 근무하며 영문뉴스 사이트 운영책임자를 겸직하고 있다.

Man-won Park has covered various government offices, including Blue House, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Seoul City since he joined Maeil Business Newspaper in 2000.
He served as a Beijing correspondent for three years from 2015. Since then he has written articles about hegemonic competition, including the trade war between the U.S. and China. Denuclearization of North Korea is also one of his long-standing news items.
He is currently deputy editor of World News Desk and also serves as director of Maeil Business Newspaper's english news sites.
